May 6, 2026 | BARAYAGWIZA Sylvain
The WALL project was represented at the EGU General Assembly 2026 (EGU26), held from 3–8 May 2026, where team members presented their latest research. Sylvain presented “Controls of tectonic extension and surface loading on dyke propagation: insights from analogue experiments and numerical modelling”, focusing on how tectonic stresses and surface processes influence magma pathways (Check the abstract here 👉 https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU26/EGU26-5593.html). Celine presented “Analysis of the persistent gas dispersion from Nyiragongo and Nyamuragira volcanoes using numerical modeling and satellite data”, providing insights into volcanic gas emissions and their atmospheric impacts using integrated modelling and satellite observations (Check the abstract here 👉 https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU26/EGU26-4889.html). These contributions highlight the interdisciplinary nature of the WALL project, combining experimental, numerical, and observational approaches to better understand volcanic systems
