WALL Project Hosts Visiting Researcher from INGV

The WALL Project is delighted to welcome Dr. Antonio Costa from Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia to East African Institute for Fundamental Research. During his visit, Antonio is collaborating with Celine on research focused on modeling volcanic gas dispersion from Mount Nyiragongo and Mount Nyamuragira. This work contributes to a better understanding of volcanic gas transport and its potential impacts on surrounding communities and environments. The collaboration reflects the WALL Project’s commitment to advancing research on geohazards in Western Rwanda and strengthening scientific partnerships between University of Rwanda and European institutions. We look forward to the outcomes of this joint work and thank Antonio for his valuable contribution to the project.
